My Past Works as Examples

Below are several cues I’ve created specifically for Bunim (via Universal).

Some of these cues have longer intros and aren’t immediately “ramped up to the stinger,” as they were tailored for specific projects at the time. When reviewing, focus on the movement, transitions, and overall quality, as these are the key aspects.

The goal is simplicity with layers of complexity, introducing different elements to create the illusion of movement. Each of these cues follows the process I mentioned earlier and can offer valuable insight into pacing, movement, and the overall quality we strive for. My goal is always to overdeliver to ensure every cue finds its place.

It’s important to note that these examples should not be used as references for any current projects. They are intended purely for listening analysis, showing how creativity can be woven into cues while maintaining consistency and flow. I had a lot of fun crafting these, adhering to a set formula while keeping things fresh.

While these might differ slightly from the needs of this specific project, they’re meant to demonstrate how flow and structure can evolve within a cue and still meet expectations.

Various Cues

This had some paced elements that helped the cue Move and evolve

o    Affirm - Hip Hop

More of an Aggressive cue, with some taste, but a lot of movement using textures, selective handclaps, vocals, percussions, etc.... The movement in the slower BPM was the task

o    Hit This - Hip Hop Drama

Lots of Movement using different elements in sections. Even Pigeons help. This was me coming out working a LOT with Timbaland sessions, so Had the Timbo bug happening. BUT the textures work when used creatively

o    Freshness - Hip Hop Transition

A very Subtle Drama type cue, but had ear candy things going throughout, and some movement by hats, and random Panned Fills, Percs -Example to show how even with a Slow Cue, you can create movement

o    FUSED  - Hip Hop Drama

Another bouncy, movement in and out of sections, using a flute riff throughout, but in and out with the movement textures and ear candy to break any repetitive straight through moments… I used the “in and outs” to break up the perception it is really not going anywhere, just a sense of movement – Still in the Timbaland vibe as well.

o    Loaded - Light Tension

Very Subtle cue making use of Start Stops and transitions into sections

o    Trials - Hip Hop Light Tension

This cue is another that was simple, but Kept Movement/Evolving elements using Arpeggiated synths, and evolving in the transitions  - This was widely used Kardashian cue

o    Tribes - Drama

This cue was simple but kept a movement in it while keeping the tropical riff throughout.

o    Plus -  Opens Transitions

Subtle, but kept interesting with evolving textures throughout, but not interfering.

o    Bound - Drama

Weird, but there are a lot of movements and a Melody type subtle Guide

o    For You - Opens Transitions

This has some Subtle Movement throughout… Almost a Melody guiding Subtly, but the Cue kept moving and evolving around it.

o    Bunker - Hip Hop Drama

Moving Cue Elements

o    Functions -Hip Hop

Simple, but keeping the movement subtle and in the sections, using a Melody to Subtle Lead. Having Repeats of the Last Hook sections but kept introducing “new elements” to not make into one long loop.

o    Phrase - Opens Transitions

This was for a different type of show, so a different type of request, but shows the different movement in “textures” and using the Start Stops to keep it evolving with other instrument elements popping in and Out up until the last hook repeat to create a sense of Evolution… The WORSE Resolve I will say, but it is what they requested for that project!

o    On My Way -  Luxury

The Chords had some textures that felt to have some movement, as well as the twisted panned vocals and other ear candy that created a sense of Consistent movement.  This was another Rare project request, but fun.

o    ID - Transitions

A light cue, that had a subtle texture working to create some background movement and interplayed them to the front and to the back using a filter to give a sense of movement or evolution, subtle but it worked.

o    New Ways - Light Tension

Lots of Movement throughout using percussive back elements.

o    Teams - Opens Transitions

Movement more in the Arps/Synths, percussive elements and other back synths to keep the movement, transitions used to evolve elsewhere, but back into the main idea…

o    Round About  - Hip Hop Tension

·A lot subtly going on, but kept evolving in sections by introducing new elements  -

-(this one is used a lot for the show 911 - shazam)

o    Run - Hip Hop Comedy

This was a transitional cue they used on “b-roll” shots around the cities etc., but I gave a variety to cut from, going in and out of sections, just to create “interest” in the cue and it worked for multiple uses. This to show the variations a cue can have followed the “structure” listed above and still create some interest throughout.

o    Insides - Transitions
