Todd Preston

Todd Preston, originally from a small town in Ohio, now proudly calls Nashville, Tennessee, his home. His deep-seated passion for music ignited at a young age, initially finding its expression through drumming. Over two decades, Todd honed his rhythmic skills and expanded his musical talents, adding the guitar to his repertoire during his high school years.

From 2004 to 2009, Todd embarked on an incredible musical journey as an acoustic solo act, performing under the stage name Half Price Hero. During this period, he hit the road, sharing his music far and wide, and even had the incredible opportunity to open for the acclaimed band Manchester Orchestra. He also achieved a remarkable milestone by featuring Listener in one of his songs and releasing two full-length albums, "Put Your Heart Where Your Mouth Is" and "The Outcome."

In a serendipitous twist of fate, Todd ventured into the realm of music production. What began as a cost-saving measure, learning to use Ableton and record his music, evolved into a newfound love. However, adversity struck when he faced hearing loss in one ear. Determined to overcome this challenge, he entered a competition by Black Octopus Sound, creating a song using poorly recorded samples. Though he didn't win the competition, it opened doors for him to work with the company, leading to the creation of his sample pack "Out of the Ashes." This sample pack, born from a moment of almost giving up on music, has since become a testament to Todd's resilience and passion.

Todd's journey also includes a venture with Vocal Kitchen, a new musical adventure where he has been immensely blessed by the friendships formed and the collaborative opportunities that have arisen. As his musical odyssey unfolds, Todd remains open to new possibilities and continues to draw strength from his unwavering faith in Jesus. He is not just about making music; he's about crafting a legacy that resonates with listeners and reflects his unshakable belief in the transformative power of music.

These bands, such as The Starting Line, Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, and Brand New, have instilled in Todd the importance of authenticity and crafting his unique sound. His music is a reflection of these influences, masterfully weaving catchy melodies into his creations.
